My goal is to make searching for arrangements as easy as possible. If the arrangement is part of the BHS, SAI or SMP (Sheet Music Plus) catalogs, the link back to the catalog is provided. Arranger websites are also provided where applicable.
The list of arrangements will be constantly growing. It will never be static or finished!
If you are an arranger and would like your arrangements to be included in the list, please contact me via the
Contact Us page.
There are three ways to search for an arrangement:
Browse List of Songs -- Select a Song from the list, click the "Get Arrangements" button.
To make searching easier, you may reduce the list of songs in the box, by entering the full or partial song name in the search box. Click the "Refine the list" button, select the song you want, then click the "Get Arrangements" button.
List by Arranger -- Use the drop-down list to select an arranger, then click the "Get Arrangements" button.
Search by Type -- Use the drop-down lists to select the type of arrangements you want to see displayed, then click the "Get Arrangements" button.
The list of arrangements will include a variety of information depending on the information that was available.
Please note** If an arrangement is listed as contestable, please verify with the arranger before using the song in contest.
A 1950 Cole Porter standard. Recorded by Rosemarie Clooney, Lena Horne, Mel Torme, and many others. Singable high energy non-contest uptune chart. Tag is a little challenging for the baritone. Recording available from After Midnight's "Volume I" CD.
A 1989 Randy Newman song written for the movie "Parenthood". Received a 1990 nomination for the Academy Award for Best Song. Very singable arrangement. Three tags provided, at three different levels of difficulty. Great opener or just general uptune.
A quintessential 1929 tune by Fats Waller and Billy Rose. A true standard of its day, recorded by many big artists of the time. Very singable arrangement with fun stomp and a big tag, and it's contestable.
An extended arrangement of the Barbershop Harmony Society's theme song. An original verse with lyrics by After Midnight quartet, Willis Diekema's original chorus, a bridge, a second original chorus, and a big high impact tag. The tag even features one cameo line from Sweet Adelines' theme song "Harmonize The World". Great for a barbershop audience, and it's contestable! Performed in contest at the international level.
A novelty medley of 6 1/2 [sic] Limericks. Flexibly arranged to allow you to substitute your own favorite Limericks instead of those in the chart. Very contestable.
Jim's parody of Don Gray's classic arrangement of "My Wild Irish Rose". A funny twist on the barbershop polecat that everyone knows. Contestable, although designed for plenty of schtick.
A 1960 pop standard by Sammy Cahn and James Van Heusen with an original verse based on a poem by Allison Chambers Coxsey. Very strong contestable ballad with a terrific tag. Performed in contests at the international level.
well known 1940 tune by Vernon Duke, John LaTouche, and Ted Fetter. This is a joint arrangement by Jim and Fraser Brown. It is very singable and contestable. It has been performed in contests at the international level.
A 1934 song by Billy Hill and Peter De Rose written for the Broadway musical "Ziegfeld Follies". Performed by singers such as Bing Crosby and Paul Robeson and later spoofed by the Smothers Brothers. Easy to learn baritone or lead solo.
